How We're Funded

We believe you deserve to know how this resource is supported and what influences—if any—shape our content.

Current Status

🌱

Early Stage Project

Manopause is currently an independent educational project in its early stages. We are not yet a registered nonprofit organization, but we are building with that future in mind.

Right now, this site is maintained by volunteers who believe that everyone deserves access to clear, calm, evidence-based information about relationship conflict and abuse—without barriers.

Our Commitments

🆓

Free Forever

All educational content on this site will always be free. Information that helps people recognize abuse and stay safe should never be behind a paywall.

🔒

No Data Sales

We will never sell user data or visitor information to anyone, for any reason. Your privacy matters, especially when you're seeking help for sensitive situations.

📢

No Ads

We don't run advertisements. We don't want commercial interests influencing what content we create or how we present information.

⚖️

Editorial Independence

Our content is based on research and best practices, not sponsor preferences. We will disclose any funding that could create a conflict of interest.

Future Funding Model

As we grow, we plan to pursue funding through channels that align with our mission and values. Here's what we're considering:

Foundation Grants

We will seek grants from foundations focused on domestic violence prevention, men's health, family wellbeing, and public education. Grant funding allows us to maintain free services without commercial pressure.

We will disclose all major funders and ensure that funding does not influence our educational content.

Individual Donations

Once we achieve nonprofit status, we plan to accept individual donations. Small donations from many people help us stay independent and accountable to the community we serve rather than large institutional donors.

Donation acceptance will include clear policies about donor privacy and the non-influence of donations on content.

Training & Educational Services

We may offer professional training or educational workshops for organizations. This creates a sustainable revenue stream while extending our educational mission.

Core resources will always remain free regardless of paid services.

What We Won't Do

Some funding sources are off the table, no matter how much they might offer. We refuse to compromise our mission for money.

  • Accept funding from organizations that promote harmful ideologies. We will not accept money from groups that promote misogyny, misandry, or any form of extremism.
  • Run advertisements. Ads create incentives to maximize engagement rather than provide genuinely helpful content.
  • Sell or share user data. Privacy is essential for safety. Period.
  • Create paywalls for essential safety information. If it could help someone stay safe, it stays free.
  • Accept sponsorships that require editorial influence. No sponsor will ever dictate our content.

Path to Nonprofit Status

We're building this organization with the intention of becoming a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the United States. Here's our roadmap:

1

Current: Foundation Building

Developing core content, establishing our approach, and building an audience of people who benefit from our resources.

2

Board Formation

Recruiting a diverse board of directors with expertise in domestic violence, education, men's health, and nonprofit governance.

3

501(c)(3) Application

Filing for tax-exempt status as an educational nonprofit focused on abuse prevention and family wellbeing.

4

Sustainable Operations

Establishing diverse funding streams that support our mission without compromising our independence.

Future Financial Transparency

Once we begin receiving significant funding, we commit to publishing:

📊 Annual financial reports showing income and expenses
📋 List of major funders (with amounts over $5,000)
👥 Board member information and any potential conflicts of interest
🎯 Program outcomes and impact metrics
💼 Executive compensation (when applicable)
